Them and us and The Men Who Stare at Goats
Jon Ronson
Jon Ronson was born in 1967. Over the past 10 years he has written features and regular columns for numerous newspapers and magazines across the world, including The Times, Elle, The Evening Standard, The Independent, The Village Voice and many others. He is also a documentary maker and the author of the bestselling Them: Adventures with Extremists and The Men Who Stare at Goats. His documentaries include Secret Rulers of the World.
He will be exploring the significance of irrationality and conspiracy theory in modern warfare and extremism. Drawing on his books, he will show how both the enemies of democracy, and our democratic leaders and military intelligence chiefs, are equally guilty of making decisions based on irrational - and sometimes plain nutty - thought.
