Christie Davies
Christie Davies was for many years Professor of Sociology at the University
of Reading as well as having been a visiting lecturer in India and the United
States.
He is the author of Ethnic Humour around the World (1996); Jokes and their Relation to Society (1998); and The Strange Death of Moral Britain (in press, due 2004).
He will be examining the many ways in which humour penetrates and influences group life of every kind.
